The diamante citron fruit is the most celebrated citrus in Calabria by well known poets such as Byron and D’Annunzio. The Cedro Di Diamante has a unique quality of being a non acidic citrus that is fresh and sweet often used for culinary purposes. At one point in the 80s almost abandoned by perfumers for its highly illicit content of furocumarins. With the innovative abstraction technology, the oil is now extracted without furocumarins and bans were lifted.

The Mandarino Di Sicilia has three unique fractions of essential oils; first from the green mandarin, a delicate and volatile oil that becomes heavier in the second transition and the third essential oil rounds off to a yellow mandarin. The fruits fragrance is different layers of olfactory notes stemmed from the flower, notes such as petigrain and neroli, to accords of geranium and ripeness of amber. The Bergamotto Di Calabria contains the precious material called the ‘Bergamot sponge’. The extraction is still done manually. First the fruit is sliced in half and the pulp is manually removed with a special incurved knife. Then the rind is compressed on a natural sponge in a circular motion to collect the essence. The essence accumulated is the most delicate and complex and resembles a fruity and floral note of jasmine. A return to the origins and to the traditional techniques to seize the best raw materials and enriching them with a drop of modernity, a composition that encloses the freshness of bergamot making it, after a long working process, persistent and energetic

The Mimosa arrived in Provence in the middle of 19th century. Blossoming in the heights of the trees around Hyde Park and The Cristal Palace. A British family asked to plant this elegant tree on the French Riviera where they would spend the winter months. Unintentionally, the demand for the mimosa flowers became so great that they were inevitably planted in Tanneron. Mimosa extract first appeared in perfumery in the 1940s. Since its arrival in perfumery, Mimosa can often be found in the most famous and prestigious compositions. As a perfumer, Mimosa Tanneron can be described as an ode to tenderness, sweetness, and the sensations of blossoming love.

"A rose is a rose is a rose..." this famous saying written by Gertrude Stein, one of the most prominent artists of the 20th century. This phrase simply states that among all flowers the rose is truly unique and today we have more than 50 varieties. Roses can be light, sublime, fresh, seductive, soft and also erotic when blended with patchouli and musk. I answered this delicate flower’s provocative calling with soft and voluptuous notes, and among all I have chosen the May Rose as it is the most cultivated flower in Grasse. For me Rose de Mai smells the brightest and most cheerful.

At harvest time, evenings are filled with its aroma… and the sunset is coloured by the newly cut flowers strewn over the fields. The humble alembics installed near the reservoirs glow with red flames into the night. Lavender is so connected to Provence that often farmers don’t realise that it was introduced during the Roman invasion which gave this region the designation of ‘Provincia Romana’ from which its name derives. As a perfumer, I love the strength of these landscapes and the beauty of the lavender fields where flocks of blue butterfly’s float in the air. To bring this scene to life, I composed Lavande Romaine a joyful fragrance that dances and sings a summer tune.
