My olfactory language is largely based on essences extracted from wood. Of these the most rare and solemn is Indian agarwood —also known as oud, its Arabic name. A unique, powerful and almost magical scent with a great tradition in Arab culture. Given my penchant from the culture of Al-Andalus, I decided I should compose my own interpretation of this unique ingredient with a Western Mediterranean twist using also leather and musk.

She then moves on to the closet, where she picks a light dress and fixes a rebel strap. She slides on pair of heels and fastens a belt around her waist. Just like every morning, she walks towards her balcony full of flowers. It’s on the 4th floor and overlooks the gardens of Palais Royal. She is happy and thinks of her day ahead, smiling.

This scent has been inspired by the seduction of nightfall. Perfumer Jerome Di Marino wanted to capture the ethereal glow that comes just as the sun and the moon share the sky in what he calls an “olfactive dream”. Using a unique couture species of vetiver harvested on the Indonesian island of Java as his foundation, Jerome began to compose iridescent notes of bergamot, pimento, and pink peppercorn to create the warm bright glow he imagines radiating in the setting sun.
